In a first: '48 Hour Film Project' is coming to Pakistan

KARACHI: The world's most established and biggest coordinated film-production rivalry is coming to Pakistan out of the blue, expressed an official statement.

The 48 Hour Film Project (48HFP) is where individuals all things considered, ability and experience levels from the whole way across Karachi will accumulate to make short movies to vie for prizes, awards and global acknowledgment.

The opposition will commence on Friday September 28, 2018, where groups will be welcome to draw irregular sorts. The movie producers will then be required to present their four to seven moment short film in the following 48 hours.

All movies submitted will be debuted on October 13 and October 14 at Cinepax Cinemas in Karachi. Judges will then choose the main 10 movies and victors for grants in various classifications.

The Karachi version will be judged by Asadul Haq – one of the greatest names in Pakistan's media industry and Nic Knowland – widely acclaimed cinematographer renowned for his work in John Lennon's Imagine and 1997's Jinnah. Different judges incorporate Sanam Saeed and Imtisal Abbasi.

48HFP has been running in more than 135 urban communities around the globe traversing crosswise over six mainlands. It is a wild and restless end of the week in which members make a film – compose, shoot and alter – in only 48 hours. The film is then screened at neighborhood theaters before a group of people of producers, loved ones.

Champ of best film will go to Filmapalooza in Orlando this year and best movies chose will be screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner 2019.

The 48 Hour Film Project's main goal is to propel film-production and advance movie producers. The opposition is subsequently, open to all movie producers whether they are seeking to be one or have been making films professionally or even a specialist.
